

Lead Educator
Dayna Stevens is an experienced and creative educator who has worked with children aged 3 - adult for more than 25 years, having spent over ten years as a primary school teacher and continues to work in outdoor and art education. She has a BA and MA in English from the University of East Anglia, a PGCE from the University of Bath and is a Creative Arts practitioner. She has immersed herself in the Montessori philosophy with mentorship from the experienced teachers on the Oak Tree board. She is passionate about fostering the well-being, interests and explorations of every child while inspiring them to gain skills and grow on their individual paths.


Assistant and Forest School Lead
Beth has worked in education and the charity sector in a variety of roles both in the UK and abroad. She speaks fluent Spanish and works as a rock climbing instructor in her spare time. She has been a Forest School Lead for four years and, recently, she has been studying Wilderness Therapeutic Approaches to develop her therapeutic skills in the woodland with adults and children. She loves dancing, drawing and exploring natural art techniques.

Mary has two, grown up, children and four grandchildren. She lived in Peru for eighteen years, and speaks fluent Spanish. She is qualified in Montessori early years and ran her own nursery for twelve years. Mary loves nature and gardening, and finding out about the world and how life developed on our planet.


Steering Group Member
Tom is a 10+ year experienced AMI Montessori primary and adolescent guide with an M.Ed. in Montessori Education. He worked as a Montessori Guide in the US for a decade, and returned to the UK in 2023. He has a daughter and a son who have both been Montessori educated. Some of Tom’s favorite classroom activities are: singing and playing ukulele, teaching mindfulness, telling the Montessori Great Lessons, and supporting the big, messy, exciting projects of primary children.

Becky has two children at Oak Tree and is part of our operations team volunteering her time to do admin and finances. She has a PhD in colour and loves reading and designing things.
